EAA Chapter 691 is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
When you donate to a qualified organization, the amount of the donation can be subtracted from your adjusted gross income (AGI), the figure used to determine your overall tax liability. To take advantage of this, you must itemize deductions rather than taking the standard deduction.
The Chapter is happy to accept donations of cash, tools, airplane parts, airplanes and other appropriate items. We are a small bunch of volunteers so we may not accept items that are not usable by the chapter or would require special expertise to sell.
A written acknowledgement of your donation will be provided. For non-cash items, you generally deduct the fair market value. For larger donations an appraisal may be required to establish value.
For those over 70, a direct, non-taxable Qualified Charitable Deduction from a retirement account to the Chapter can be used to satisfy or reduce RMD requirements.
